RICHARD CORBEN DEN 5 ELEMENTS GRAPHIC NOVEL FANTAGOR PRESS RARE OOP HEAVY METAL!

DEN 5 ELEMENTS GRAPHIC NOVEL

by

World acclaimed artist Corben's masterpiece. This enchanting visual epic will be ranked among the great classics of fantasy.

It takes place in a world with Nar stones, like the ones that drove the Heavy Metal movie. They are a source of great power, coveted by evil men. Den becomes involved, to save his friends and the woman he loves, or so he thinks. Airships, deranged hermits, terrible beasts. Den, the hero, is a superhuman figure of rippling sinews. Kath, like all women of this world, is a powerful figure of superhuman bosom. The monsters are evil, the escapes are narrow, and the mad mage is a whirling nutjob. His direst threat is "The Nutcracker of Death." Good adventure comic, great Corben art, not for folks shy of skin on display. A classic, and still a favorite.

Den, a character adapted into the animated movie Heavy Metal, was one of the works that demonstrated the potential of comics as a medium not solely the province of kids. Corben's powerhouse draftsmanship, innovative color palette (the result of his painstaking hand-separation technique), and visceral, fleshy figures, sucks the reader in and never lets you go. Rich in homages to pulpsters Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard, and ribald, frank sensuality, Den is a timeless grown up fantasy epic.

The saga of Den is a fantasy series about the adventures of a young underweight man who travels to Neverwhere, a universe taking inspirational nods from Robert E. Howard's Hyborian Age, Edgar Rice Burroughs's Barsoom and H. P. Lovecraft's horror dimensions. There, the man becomes an enormously endowed muscled barbarian warrior who has sexy adventures in a world of outrageous dangers, hideous monsters, and buxom women who lustfully throw themselves at him.

WEREWOLF Graphic Novel

 by Richard Corben

World acclaimed artist

The legend of the lycanthrope–a human turned feral by a blood curse and transformed into the most savage of predatory beasts–is as old as recorded history . . . and as tantalizing as it is terrifying.

Internationally acclaimed artist and illustrator Richard Corben has been bringing his dark and viscerally brilliant vision to comics, graphic novels, and other art forms for more than four decades. And now, legend meets legend, as Corben turns his masterful hand and gut-wrenching signature style to this bloodcurdling collection of tales devoted to the monster that walks like a man, howls like a hellhound, and hungers for the hunt.

A collection of lycanthrope stories in Richard Corbens inimitable style, collected from Creepy, Heavy Metal and various underground comix. Dead Hill, The Beast of Wolfton, The Spirit of the Beast, Roda and the Wolf, Lycanklutz, Change Into Something Comfortable, and Fur Trade.

a day by day calender of what was going on in the alternative music scene at that time. record release dates, concert dates, short items about band news, and photos of band posters and album covers. it's great for helping to remember obscure band names and when you may have seen a band in concert.

comes with a great CD with band interviews and songs of the period. an hour+ long rockumentary! With a lot of tracks, rare interviews from performers (like Siouxsie And The Banshees and Psychedelic Furs) and a great narrator THE CD ALONE is worth the price of the book. And worth mentioning that the CD is UNIQUE, you can not get it elsewhere!

Wow -- what an unbelievable labour of love. Like his first book "Punk Rock Diary", George Gimarc has managed to chronical the day to day doings of hundreds of bands (some known, some who are just names to most us) during two of the most pivotal years in modern music.
