Ramses alive and well and living in twentieth-century Egypt because of the immortality-inducing elixir he concocted in ancient times. A small portion of the elixir also restores life to the mummy of an unnamed woman in a museum, and Ramses discovers her to be his long-lost love, Cleopatra. Problems arise when it becomes obvious that the animated corpse of his former lover has no soul and that the smidgen of the elixir that is in her system causes her to go on a sex-driven killing spree.

Evocative full-color paintings and an artful interpretation of the original text capture the inimitable spirit and atmosphere of this passionate, complex, and thrilling tale.

The story revolves around Gambit's attempt to solve a series of Jack-the-Ripper inspired murders in london, seemingly committed by his fellow X-Man Wolverine.

Written by JEPH LOEB, Executive Producer and Writer on TV's HEROES and SMALLVILLE. Drawn by TIM SALE, who's artwork is also featured on HEROES. This team has produced highly acclaimed comics starring such characters as BATMAN, SUPERMAN, SPIDERMAN, HULK, DAREDEVIL, and CATWOMAN.

In 1888, London was terrorized by a mysterious assailant who stalked women in the area of Whitechapel. He killed five women in all, and was so confident that the police would never catch him that he even sent them a mocking note. He signed it, “Jack the Ripper.”

Today, the nightmare seems to be happening all over again. Someone sliced into five London women, the last of which was an undercover policewoman named Alexandra Davies. The X-Men’s Gambit had known her, and flew to London to investigate her death. Using his skills as a thief, he broke into the offices of Scotland Yard. There he found that the murder weapon had not been a knife—the evidence indicated that there were traces of bone DNA…the victims had been clawed to death.

And shortly afterward, Wolverine was found, bloodied claws extended, standing over another murdered woman.

In London, women are being murdered. Five have been killed so far. The manner in which they have been killed kindles rumors of Jack the Ripper's return. One of the victims, Alexandra Davies, was a former romance of Gambit's. When he arrives in London, he is shocked to learn that the murderer might be his friend and teammate Wolverine, who has been rapidly sinking into an animal state. Yet, things are rarely as they appear in the X-Men universe and this is no exception.

Jeff Loeb and Tim Sale do a great job of delivering a intense murder mystery, and yet at the same time, delivering some very touching character development moments.

Since these friends include Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame, and Michael Dooney, better known for his work on the robot character Gizmo, there is some quality material here. Richard Corben is another well-known name represented in this 96-page collection. Most of the stories are just a handful of pages, and some are only a page. The gallery artwork includes both original material and sketches done for little-seen fanzines and the like.

Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird thought they were making a joke about the countless mutant and kung-fu heroes in comics. So what better than to name their improbable series, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”? Little did they know that their joke would soon develop a cult of devoted fans, eventually turning them into an international phenomenon.

The Turtles: Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo, along with their rat sensei Splinter, are now one of the hottest tickets in town. Stars of stage, screen, and countless comics (including this, the original), they combine humor and action in a way that appeals to young children and hip intellectuals.

Mortal Kombat became legendary as a video game in the arcades, both for its high-tech kung fu fighting animations and for its grisly “finishing scenes” where the winning player could literally tear apart his hapless opponent. In 1994,Malibu did just that in this six-issue mini-series, subtitled “Blood & Thunder.”

Here we find the world’s greatest warriors invited to a deadly duel-to-the-death in Hong Kong. Before Dracula became known as the glamorous star of Hollywood vampire movies, a silent film called “Nosferatu” (“Vampire”) painted a more tragic picture of the night creatures. This series, inspired by that film, features Sir William, a character doomed to an eternal life where he consistently craves human blood as well as needs it to stay alive. After ravaging a small town and killing countless humans, the Nosferatu is hunted by the men of the area. The climactic battle takes place between the Nosferatu and Orlock, another vampire. They both know that they cannot kill each other, so they decide to die together by driving a wooden stake through both hearts at the same time. Sadly, their legacy of blood was transmitted to a woman, Bronwyn Callan, who was turned into a vampire before they died.
