Ash is an American comic book created by Joe Quesada (editor in chief of MARVEL COMICS) and Jimmy Palmiotti, published by Event Comics about a firefighter who mysteriously gains superpowers.
Ash is the super-hero alter-ego of fictional firefighter Ashley Quinn. Ash was "born" from a mysterious incident when Ashley was trapped inside a burning building.
One key aspect in the design of the character was the close resemblance to the suits worn by firefighters of the New York Fire Department. The key element in Ashley Quinn being portrayed as a firefighter was to have a character who was both a super-hero in is civilian life as well as in secret.
You may already know that Ash, real name Ashley Quinn, was a firefighter, severely burned and regenerated into an ash-creature super-hero, possessed of extraordinary strength and in control of a plasma-based, firelike power. But did you also know he is actually the product of futuristic alien technology, merged with a human? Or that his neighbors included six strippers in a one-bedroom apartment? Or that he owns several guitars?
You’ll find these and other facts about Ash in this one-shot which not only covers him, his origin, and his life in minute detail, but also the lives of those around him. Information is also provided on The Actor, a vengeful villain with a history of setting fires and booby-trapping buildings in Ash’s neighborhood; Lia Ishikawa, Ash’s lovely Asian-American neighbor; and Painkiller Jane and 22 Brides, who have all been featured in other comics. An indispensable resource for Ash fans, published by Event Comics
