Synopsis: Snake Eyes is introduced to the Arashikage Ninja Clan, Storm Shadow's family business. Snake Eyes then progresses rapidly through the ninja training; enough to defeat Storm Shadow in an exercise. The Faceless Master is introduced as an assistant to Professor Onihashi. Master Sato leads a revolt against the Hard Master for his inclusion of Snake Eyes in the clan. Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow & the Soft Master defeat the revolt. The Hard Master banishes Master Sato and several of the other ninjas from the clan that were involved in the revolt.

-This series takes place between the disbanding in 1995 and the return in 2001 of the GI Joe team. -Wade Collins was in Vietnam with Stalker, Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow. He was left behind as dead, ended up a POW for years. After returning to the US, he joined Cobra where he became a Crimson Guardsman, Fred unit. Snake-Eyes and Stalker helped him defect from Cobra to live a life in peace. The new series picked up several years after the end of the Marvel Comics series.
