RICHARD CORBEN UNDERGROUND HORROR COMIC!

WRITTEN BY BRUCE JONES!

For fans of RICHARD CORBEN's unique style of extreme Fantasy and Horror. Underground Comic Book Anthology with lavish full color artwork printed on high quality paper.

Also featuring other acclaimed artists such as DOUG WILDEY, BRET BLEVINS, and BILL WRAY.
If you are old enough to remember Corben's classic work, then this book is a reminder of the unique place he holds in comics history. If you are relatively new and unfamiliar with RC, then Twisted Tales is an excellent introduction to the man.

Hitting most of the highlights that characterize Corben's oeuvre - grotesque imagery, violence, monsters, and sexy damsels - serve as platforms for both excellent storytelling and technically accomplished art.

PUBLISHED BY PACIFIC COMICS IN 1982.

All of the stories in the entire run of Twisted Tales were written by Jones, who had shown a knack for horror a decade before when he was employed as a scripter for Warren Publishing, writing for their Creepy and Eerie titles. Jones, a self-described "child of the 50’s", was heavily influenced by the horror and science fiction movies of that decade. But as noted in his editorial in Issue #1, his chief inspiration was the bloody and ironically moralistic tales of the EC horror comics such as TALES FROM THE CRYPT. His work in Twisted Tales, often utilizing twist endings, added huge dollops of graphic violence and sexy sensuality to the EC formula.
