Entire generations of American women grew up with Barbie. This doll, introduced in the 1950s soon eclipsed all others as a favorite among girls everywhere. Over time, Barbie’s designers added an incredible collection of fashion accessories, Malibu Beach doll houses, cars, horses, and an assortment of friends. These included girl friend Skipper and presumed love interest Ken.
In 1991 Barbie came to the comics in this Marvel series. Each issue was a series of lighthearted adventures as Barbie overcame various obstacles to win ice skating
contests, outwit class pranksters and more. One of the nineties’ few series aimed explicitly toward girls, Barbie filled an important role in a market crammed with super-heroes and dominated by male readers.
These are the extremely rare issues published by MARVEL COMICS in 1991.
