TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 3 COMICBOOKS #1-3 ADVENTURES ARCHIE COLOR APRIL 80s
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 3 COMIC BOOKS. #1 - 3
FEATURING FULL COLOR ARTWORK
The phenomenon that was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took off globally in the late 1980s to spawn three movies, a cartoon series, a multitude of comics imitators, and about three million toys. Simple art and basic plots conceal very funny writing at times.
Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and Leonardo are still doing their part to stop crime and thwart the bad guys, but they’re getting more laughs than kicks in the process now. And TV reporter April O’Neil has little competition in getting the scoop on the action, since the staff at her station is more concerned with chipped fingernails and vicious poodles. Splinter remains the same father figure he has always been.
The Shredder returns and he's working for Kang. Shredder hires some goons to dress up as the Turtles and frame them for robberies...
Shredder breaks Baxter Stockman out of an insane asylum and puts him to work. Splinter at home, is captured by Stockman. The Turtles follow the trail of destruction left behind. Turtles beat down the costumed fake Turtles.
TMNT arrive just in time to stop Shredder from killing Splinter. Shredder escapes with Stockman. Media reports that the previous footage of the Turtles committing crimes were faked.
The turtles watch as an alien creature crashlands on Earth. The alien tells them of three fragments that they must find before they fall into evil hands (unfortunately, Shredder overheads the entire conversation...). Alien dude dies. The hunt is on for the fragments. The turtles battle the Shredder over the first. Shredder wins and uses the fragment to shrink the turtles...
Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird thought they were making a joke about the countless mutant and kung-fu heroes in comics. So what better than to name their improbable series, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”? Little did they know that their joke would soon develop a cult of devoted fans, eventually turning them into an international phenomenon.
The Turtles: Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo, along with their rat sensei Splinter, are now one of the hottest tickets in town. Stars of stage, screen, and countless comics, they combine humor and action in a way that appeals to young children and hip intellectuals.
