ROBOTECH GRAPHIC NOVEL MACROSS SAGA ANIME RICK HUNTER COMICO 1986 SDF-1 ORIGIN!!

Robotech GRAPHIC NOVEL

Highly Recommended! Published in 1986 by Comico.

Never sold in any mass market retail outlets and could only be purchased from comic book specialty stores.

Reveals for the first time how the SDF-1 has come to crash on Earth, and the first contact of the military exploring the alien vessel. The story is the real prelude to the Macross Saga animated series.

The Robotech Graphic Novel was not based on any TV episodes, but instead provided a backstory for some elements of the TV series.

This highly-anticipated oversize edition was the first comic to cross over elements from the three Robotech sagas. The prequel storyline began to tie the Robotech universe together as a whole, from the Super Dimension Fortress' original mission under Zor, to Roy Fokker's early tour of duty aboard the U.S.S. Kenosha. T

GUMBY SUMMER FUN SPECIAL #1 COMIC BOOK ART ADAMS VINTAGE POKEY ART CLOKEY RARE!!

GUMBY SUMMER FUN SPECIAL #1 Comic Book

published by COMICO in 1987. 1988 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards - Winner - Best Single Issue: (Bub Burden and Art Adams [Comico])

Gumby’s Summer Fun Special is a lot of fun. Really. Despite being based on the green clay U.S. children’s character. Gumby and Pokey, his orange horse chum, some children and a baby-sitting werewolf get mixed up with hysterical aliens (bad guys) and space bears (good guys), a group of nice pirates and a crazy town where it’s permanently Hallowe’en. Bob Burden’s script is minimal and funny, with the plot always on the brink of coming apart at the seams. The fact that he manages to keep all the plates in the air makes for manic fun, while Art Adams’ detailed artwork is always a joy.

The book can be appreciated on two levels: a charming story featuring Gumby (the popular Claymation character created by Art Clokey), and an absurd romp through pop culture with crisp, clean art by Arthur Adams.

Highly Recommended!

SPACE GHOST GRAPHIC NOVEL VINTAGE STEVE RUDE ALEX TOTH ANIMATED COAST TO COAST!!

SPACE GHOST GRAPHIC NOVEL

A NEW SPACE GHOST ADVENTURE.

Featuring lavish full color art printed on high quality paper. Published by Comico in 1987.

Long before he assumed the persona of a late-night talk show host, Space Ghost was the Man. Alex Toth created Space Ghost for a Hanna-Barbera cartoon show that CBS premiered on September 10, 1966. What made it so neat was an interesting combination: with seven minutes to save the universe, Space Ghost couldn’t waste time. Characters didn’t stand around so the cartoons raced along at top speed. Maybe the main reason was Space Ghost himself. We knew nothing about him. He was driven to protect the cosmos from the likes of Metallus and Brak, that he had a secret headquarters, a sleek spaceship and possessed the Power-Bands. That he just looked like a hero, soaring through the stars, with Gary Owens‚ distinctive voice shouting out “Spaaaaace Ghost!”

GUMBY WINTER FUN SPECIAL #1 COMIC BOOK ART ADAMS VINTAGE POKEY ART CLOKEY RARE!!

GUMBY WINTER FUN SPECIAL #1 Comic Book

In Hell the damned are subjected to 72-hour Karen Valentine film festivals, a twenty-year Hee-Haw retrospective and pop songs from the 1970s such as “Muskrat Love.” These are only some of the surprising bits of satire to be found in Gumby’s Winter Fun Special, a genuinely funny book that features Gumby and Pokey on a mission to the Underworld with the Mole People to rescue Santa Claus. Santa has been sentenced to Hell due to a bureaucratic glitch. In another unique twist, the Mole People know Santa as Ray Crabbe, his headquarters are in Morocco, and he looks a whole lot like Sean Connery. Nevertheless, he is quite a catch for Beelzebub, or as Gumby refers to him, Mr. Bub.

The book can be appreciated on two levels: a charming story featuring Gumby (the popular Claymation character created by Art Clokey), and an absurd romp through pop culture with crisp, clean art by Arthur Adams.

MACROSS #1 Comic Book. ROBOTECH

COLLECTORS ITEM FIRST ISSUE!

Highly Recommended! Published by Comico in 1985. FULL COLOR!

This item was never sold in any mass market retail outlets and could only be purchased from comic book specialty stores.

This first release from Comico used character names such as "Rick Yamata" from the English language version of Macross before the completion of the 85-episode Robotech series in 1985. One of the hardest issues to find!

When an alien spaceship crashed on Macross Island, it had a profound effect upon humanity. Suddenly shocked into realizing that they were not alone in the universe, the various races of man agreed to cease their fighting, and band together instead. They built upon the technology found in the wrecked spaceship, calling it “Robotech.” Using the products of that technology, they formed the Robotech Defenders, an Earth defense force.

Many years later, Robotech would face its greatest challenge, when it encounters the Zentraedi, a warlike alien race. Hopelessly outnumbered by the Zentraedi warships, the Robotech warriors must somehow beat the odds if Earth is to survive.

Comico responded to collectors' demand for a reprint of the hard-to-find "Boobytrap" issue in an innovative way: by re-adapting the first episode of Macross as a Robotech comic in 3-D format.

Lords of Robotechnology are rulers of an intergalactic empire and creators of the giant warrior clones Zentraedi. With the invention of Robotechnology using Protoculture, the Robotech Masters built powerful weapons for a single purpose: build an empire. The Robotech Masters were unable to maintain their empire due to a combination of relentless battles with the Invade, destruction of the Zentraedi and depletion of the Protoculture. In 2013, they embarked on a 15-year journey to Earth to retrieve the last known Protoculture Matrix that was hidden in the SDF-1’s reflex engines. Upon their arrival, the Robotech Masters are forced into battle with the Armies of the Southern Cross. Their primary objective is retrieving the Protoculture Matrix, which they need to survive and will do anything to get it—including destroying the human race. The war against the deadly Invid finally reached Earth, with the bulk of the planet’s Robotech defenders still in deep space. The aliens easily crushed all resistance, claiming the planet as their own. An advance assault force, hoping to catch the Invid off-guard, was also defeated, and thousands of more resistance fighters were killed.

But one man survived. With his ship damaged, Scott Bernard relies on his Robotech cyclone cycle as both transportation and defense. Like the larger space-faring ships, the alien-based technology converts the cycle to battle armor when needed. Bernard hopes to destroy Reflex Point, the Invid Headquarters, avenging his lover and fallen friends.

He soon learns that the aliens are not the only enemy, and that many of the remaining humans will sacrifice even would-be saviors to appease their conquerors. Without the aid of his friend Rand and a mysterious female warrior, Bernard’s quest could already be over.

On a far-away planet, a world being seeded with the Flower of Life by the enigmatic Robotech Master Zor, the Super Dimensional Fortress One begins to lift off. A three-man group of Zentraedi warriors, led by Breetai, takes note of this development, and one among them, Bokay, wonders if they are being abandoned..

The Macross prequel, this series juxtaposes events surrounding the restoration of the SDF-1 on Macross Island with the Zentraedi search for the lost ship.
