Earth sent SDF-3 to Tirol to negotiate peace with the Robotech Masters before another Robotech War could erupt. They arrived to find another war already in progress with the Invid. Rick Hunter and his valiant crew saved Tirol but SDF-3 was damaged to the point she could not leave orbit for five years.
There they met a band of freedom fighters from different worlds calling themselves the Sentinels. Rick and his wife Lisa along with a few members of the Robotech Expeditionary Force helped to liberate one of the Sentinels’ home planets, Karbarra. But while looking for life on Praxis, they once more encountered the deadly Invid menace.

However, a new conflict arises without the aid of a new wave of alien invaders. At Fokker Field, Veritech Alpha Fighters are starting to act on their own, contrary to the orders of their pilots. One of these bizarre incidents takes the life of a young woman named Amy Pollard, of Cobra Squadron. The military can't find anything wrong with the fighter, but Amy's fiancee, Terry Weston, knows something strange is going on. He swears to get to the bottom of this, and finds himself entangled in a conspiracy involving a prestigious military academy, stolen Protoculture, and the high command of the Army of the Southern Cross!

Designed as a high-security resort, Belmont seems to be the perfect place to start over. For ten years, Belmont prospers and grows, and becomes a focal point for rebuilding civilization.
Then Scott Bernard, a charismatic war hero, returns and shatters the tranquil harmony that had existed.
While most Robotech stories focused on recounting the war, this bold attempt shows the consequences of war on the people involved.

When an alien spaceship crashed on Macross Island, it had a profound effect upon humanity. Suddenly shocked into realizing that they were not alone in the universe, the various races of man agreed to cease their fighting, and band together instead. They built upon the technology found in the wrecked spaceship, calling it “Robotech.” Using the products of that technology, they formed the Robotech Defenders, an Earth defense force.
Many years later, Robotech would face its greatest challenge, when it encounters the Zentraedi, a warlike alien race. Hopelessly outnumbered by the Zentraedi warships, the Robotech warriors must somehow beat the odds if Earth is to survive.

The Robotech Masters were unable to maintain their empire due to a combination of relentless battles with the Invade, destruction of the Zentraedi and depletion of the Protoculture. In 2013, they embarked on a 15-year journey to Earth to retrieve the last known Protoculture Matrix that was hidden in the SDF-1’s reflex engines. Upon their arrival, the Robotech Masters are forced into battle with the Armies of the Southern Cross. In late 1988, Eternity brought out this new edition of the Robotech saga, set ten years after the conclusion of the Macross Saga.
Rick Hunter, hero of the first series, is about to marry Lisa Hayes, admiral and captain of the new SDF-3 space fortress. This ship is being sent to the Robotech Masters’ home planet on a diplomatic mission. In actuality, the ship is loaded with the most-advanced Mecha technology available—just in case the diplomatic mission doesn’t work out.
But unknown to all, the Robotech Masters’ home planet was under siege by Invid shock troopers. Within hours the world was all but destroyed, and the last scientists fled to underground refuges. Unless a miracle happens, they, and their knowledge of Protoculture technology, will fall into the hands of these dread alien invaders.
This series helps to bridge the gap between the storylines, events and characters seen in ROBOTECH MASTERS and NEW GENERATION.

The war against the deadly Invid finally reached Earth, with the bulk of the planet’s Robotech defenders still in deep space. The aliens easily crushed all resistance, claiming the planet as their own. An advance assault force, hoping to catch the Invid off-guard, was also defeated, and thousands of more resistance fighters were killed.
But one man survived. With his ship damaged, Scott Bernard relies on his Robotech cyclone cycle as both transportation and defense. Like the larger space-faring ships, the alien-based technology converts the cycle to battle armor when needed. Bernard hopes to destroy Reflex Point, the Invid Headquarters, avenging his lover and fallen friends.
He soon learns that the aliens are not the only enemy, and that many of the remaining humans will sacrifice even would-be saviors to appease their conquerors. Without the aid of his friend Rand and a mysterious female warrior, Bernard’s quest could already be over.

While they’re helping him recover, his memory and his deadly mission are coming back to him. Will he slay the humans who have helped him—particularly Angel, the young girl who has fallen in love with him? The Robotech saga continues and this episode assumes readers are familiar with the ins and outs of this anime-inspired story that has run through several comics over the years. Little is done to bring first-time readers up to speed, but the emotions in this black-and-white series are compelling enough to keep the pages turning.

Tsuguo Okazaki and Sukehiro Tomita produced a Japanese comics adaptation of the video series Macross II, and this title is an English translation of that comic. The story takes place eighty years after the first Macross story, and Earth has been successfully keeping the enemy Zentraedi at bay with recordings of pop songs. However, the enemy’s own singers have how arrived and in this story one of them is captured by a shallow young journalist and brought to Earth, causing changes in the singer, the journalist and the war. The pop-song defence was inherited from the first series, where it went almost unnoticed among all the other idiocies designed for the ten-year-old brain. Transplanted to a comic for adults, though, it looks very strange, and that does seem to be much of the point of the story: redesigning the enemy’s culture so that their reaction to the pop songs makes sense. The redesign works well, and the comic has a much more alien feel than the first series. Other changes: the artwork is much more varied and dramatic.
