CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 COMIC BOOK MARVEL MARK WAID AVENGERS SHIELD AGENT NICK FURY!!
CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 COMIC BOOK.
SENTINEL OF LIBERTY
RARE and OUT OF PRINT.
HARD TO FIND COLLECTORS ITEM FOR FANS OF CAPTAIN AMERICA.
Written by Mark Waid. Drawn by Mark Garney.
The creative team of writer Mark Waid and artist Ron Garney were the best thing to happen to Captain America since World War II, and they proved it again in Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty. Waid riffs on fifty-plus years of Cap continuity to explore the depth and meaning of Captain America as a man and a symbol, without crossing the line into Watchmen-style pathology or overzealous fanboyism. Garney’s art continues to amaze, fusing the dynamism of Jack Kirby, the cinematic pacing of Jim Steranko, and the lyricism of Alex Schomburg—Cap’s three finest artistic interpreters—into a fluid, eye-pleasing style that packs a knockout punch (and offers an excellent escape route from the artistic cul-de-sac that the Marvel style has become in the 1990s).

CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 COMIC BOOK MARVEL AVENGERS 9/11 SUPER SOLDIER PATRIOT USA NEW

CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 COMIC BOOK
RARE and OUT OF PRINT.
HARD TO FIND COLLECTORS ITEM FOR FANS OF CAPTAIN AMERICA.
an all-new, ongoing CAPTAIN AMERICA series of gut-wrenching intensity, by the acclaimed creative team of writer John Ney Rieber (Books of Magic) and penciler John Cassaday (Planetary)!
THE STORY: In the aftermath of 9/11, Cap must deal with the way America ? and the world have changed. From the ruins of the World Trade Center to the horrors of a small town shaken by terrorism, this is one double-sized first issue you'll never forget and neither will Marvel's star-spangled champion!
THE WRITER SPEAKS: "The man's a soldier: fierce, focused, and absolutely dedicated to the American dream," Rieber stated. "He fights for the people we, the people. Because he's one of us. He knows this country. He sees America as it is the beauty and the bloody shadows of it, the nobility and the savagery of it. He knows what it could be what it should be. What it was meant to be, from the beginning... and he'd die to get us there. He is the shield. Liberty's shield. And though he's just a man, like the ideal of freedom that drives him, he's really hard to kill."
THE ARTIST SPEAKS: "I can't say this will be a revolution or an unrecognizable Captain America," said Cassaday. "However, what John Ney Rieber and I are putting together will deliver a Captain America that has more on his mind than beating the super-villain-of-the-week senseless. Our Cap believes in the American standard, but you won't catch him delivering syrupy speeches. Our man's patriotic testosterone comes out of his angry fists, not endless rhetoric. He fights for the American dream, fearing he'll never have the chance to experience it himself. Revolution? Maybe not. But it is The New Deal."

THE TRUTH: RED WHITE and BLACK #1.
MARVEL COMIC BOOK starring The Black Captain America!
Each detailing part of the saga of the African American Captain America who fought injustice during World War 2!
Published by Marvel Comics, the creators of such beloved superheroes a Spiderman, X-Men, The Hulk, Daredevil, Iron Man, and of course, CAPTAIN AMERICA.
This comic book series, published in 2003, revealed that the ORIGINAL Captain America was in fact a Black American Soldier.
At the time, it garnered a flurry of media attention, and the series sold out and became instant collector's items.
The series is written and drawn by African American writer Robert Morales and artist Kyle Baker.
Printed on glossy paperstock and cardstock cover to enhance the full color expressive style of Baker's illustrations.
Truth writer Robert Morales took a lead from the “Tuskegee experiment.” The Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male was a real-life clinical study in which poor Black men were denied treatment for syphilis, so that the doctors involved could study how the disease spreads through the body and eventually kills the infected person.
Morales posed the questions: What if realizing that the “Super Soldier” serum was potentially so dangerous and perhaps fatal that before testing it on a white man (Rogers), the government tested it on Black soldiers.
In 1940, Joe Simon and Jack Kirby created Captain America, a frail patriot who was transformed by a "super-soldier serum" into a physically perfect specimen to champion freedom, an American alternative to the Nazi uebermensch. Now, writer Morales pursues this idea and also draws inspiration from U.S. government experiments in the 1930s that left unwitting African-Americans infected with syphilis, leading to many deaths. Beginning his story in 1940, Morales incisively depicts the racism his various African-American characters confront both in civilian life and in the military. These black soldiers are compelled to act as test subjects for the super-soldier serum; some die, while others become deformed. Ultimately only one survives, Isaiah Bradley. Becoming Captain America for one mission, Bradley discovers Jewish concentration camp inmates subjected to experiments. Ranging from heroic figures to pointed caricatures, artist Baker makes his varied styles gel. Drawing on copious research, Morales dramatizes how racism corrupted American history, and the cost of the Super Soldier serum in creating the Captain America known to most for the past century.

BATMAN AND CAPTAIN AMERICA GRAPHIC NOVEL!
Drawn and Written by JOHN BYRNE
RARE and OUT OF PRINT.
HARD TO FIND COLLECTORS ITEM FOR FANS OF CAPTAIN AMERICA AND BATMAN.
John Byrne is well-known for being a diverse writer/artist/creator. With Chris Claremont, he helped define the X-Men and he is also the man who revamped the origins of both Superman and Spider-Man. With credentials like that, it is only natural that he be selected to pen and ink this crossover between DC and Marvel.
The story takes place during the 1940's, the Golden Age of comics. The Batman we are presented with is not the brooding manhunter of the modern films, but is the original character who had no problem handing out a smile now and then. He and Captain America (with teen sidekicks Robin and Bucky) investigate the theft of the atomic bomb from the "Gotham Project" by the Joker and the Red Skull. Together they must prevent the criminals from destroying Washington DC.
A good read for comics fans of any ages, this is a timeless tale that doesn't get the attention it probably deserves.

Review
"A gem of considerable luster...the sort of thing we always dreamed of...a must-buy for any Marvel fan." -- CBGExtra.com
"It's gorgeous...The Marvel Vault is the bomb... Expertly written and prepared." -- January Magazine
"This is a treasure trove of reproduced memorabilia. Brimming with sketches, members' cards and back stories of incredibly obscure characters, it's a history of Marvel so superbly entertaining you'll forget you don't want your kids to play with it." 5 stars.... -- Empire!, 10/2007
"What makes The Marvel Vault amazing fun is the surplus of bells-and-whistles...a wonderful gift, particularly to yourself." -- ComicMix.com
"I've seen a lot of impressive books in my time, but The Marvel Vault takes the cake! I shudder to think of any True Believer being without one." -- Stan Lee
The Vault opens up to show a lot of great photographs, artwork, and promotional items from these eras, much of it previously unpublished or rarely seen, including office birthday and Christmas cards and reproductions of some very cute postcards that Sub-Mariner artist Bill Everett sent to his daughter in 1956. The 1960s chapter includes a lot of photographs of the Bullpenners and freelancers, including a reprint of the little-known Bullpen photos pages from Marvel Tales Annual #1. And I could look all day at Marie Severin’s office cartoons and cover sketches.
The artifacts are the real stars of the show here, and some of the best include a reproduction of the 1976 Howard the Duck for President (“Get Down America” indeed!) button (now a sticker here), a replica of the first Marvel Comic Convention program, a whole page of Marvel Value Stamps (reproduced on actual deteriorating newsprint!), a Marvel Visitor badge (which gained you entry into the bullpen!), and the invitation to Peter and Mary Jane’s wedding. Of unique note is a facsimile of 20 shares of Marvel Entertainment Group stock (ascribed to Roy and Dann Thomas, no less), which I find amusing for a number of reasons, but mostly for the image of the busty babe in recline at the top of the stock. Yikes, how close to comics can you get?
Also of curiosity is the menu for the ill-fated Marvel Mania restaurant from 1998, where you can order Pulse-Poundin’ Pizza or Stanwiches or (my favorite) Howard the Duck chicken fingers. The curious thing about the menu is that it’s the only artifact in the book that doesn’t say “Reproduction” on the back. This, and the fact that my menu (which came in a shrink-wrapped book) is “well-thumbed” can only lead to one conclusion — is this a “real” menu?
About the Author
Roy Thomas lived every boy's dream when he went from being a high school teacher to being the legendary Stan Lee's assistant editor and a scriptwriter for Marvel Comics in 1965. He finished his 15-year career at Marvel as editor-in-chief. Since then, he's co-written two films, contributed to several books and co-authored one with Stan Lee.
Peter Sanderson is a comics guru who joined the staff of Marvel as an assistant editor and later became the company's first archivist. Sanderson is a prolific writer who also teaches at New York University and produces documentaries on comics.

BORIS THE BEAR COMIC BOOK.
RARE VINTAGE PARODY COMIC FEATURING THE MARVEL SUPERHEROES.
"THE SECRET HERO OF THE SUPER WARS"
Unauthorized and humorous underground comic book featuring MARVEL SUPERHEROES such as THE UNCANNY X-MEN, IRON MAN, THE FANTASTIC FOUR, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, THE MIGHTY THOR, taking on Boris the Bear, a cute cartoon bear who targets a different group of pop culture characters every issue!
See the following MARVEL COMICS characters get beat up by a tiny talking teddy bear!
* THE UNCANNY X-MEN
* IRON MAN
* THE FANTASTIC FOUR
* THE INCREDIBLE HULK
* THE MIGHTY THOR
* THE SILVER SURFER
* THE BLACK PANTHER
* BLACK BOLT of THE INHUMANS
* NICK FURY AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D
* ANT-MAN
* many many more!!!
This book was controversial back in the eighties because it was not cleared by the owners of the MARVEL SUPERHEROES and had an extremely low print run. MARVEL fans were clamoring to find this issue.
Boris is a walking, talking teddy bear. But this cute little animal isn’t like all the others you see in the funny books: he’s got an attitude…and an Uzi. Boris decides it’s time to put things straight—with as much violence as possible.
James Dean Smith’s Boris the Bear is hilarious, self-effacing, and (of course) more than a little twisted. If you’re numbed to death from comic book overload, this title may just be the medicine you need to crack a smile again.
Boris used to be a nice enough bear, living in a tree fort in the back yard of his boy, David’s house. Boris the Bear was a great comic book collector and would happily while away the hours reading comics. But lately something has been disturbing him: the onslaught of badly drawn, lifelessly written characters. Now they were everywhere. Something had to be done—and this bear had the will, the attitude, and the Uzi to do it!
Featuring Full Color artwork! Printed on high quality paper.
This comic books were never available to the mass market and were only sold in comic book specialty shops.
