SUPERMAN #75
Featuring the DEATH OF SUPERMAN. Published by DC Comics in 1993.
The Death of Superman was a stunt that turned out to be DC's bestselling Superman comic ever. This comic sold out immediately upon it's release because of the media publicity surrounding Superman's death at the hands of the monster Doomsday from Krypton.
This comic is notable because each full page is a pin-up panel of the comics, culminating in the glossy fold-out back cover which shows a huge single image of the moment of Superman's death across three pages, cradled in the arms of his wife, Lois Lane.
The storyline has since been adapted into an animated movie, as well as a season of the TV series Smallville.
introduces an unstoppable alien named Doomsday who creates a path of destruction on his way to the heart of Metropolis and whom Superman must stop at any cost. It's of interest as a milestone of the Superman mythos
