Green Lantern series finds Hal Jordan sharing the spotlight with newcomers Guy Gardner and John Stewart. Hal Jordan, once a fairly straightforward do-gooder seems progressively more cynical and mixed-up. Still, he’s a regular Boy Scout compared to Guy Gardner, an arrogant, annoying loudmouth who was chosen (for obscure reasons) to become a Green Lantern. The most recent Green Lantern, John Stewart, is haunted by his recent past.
Although the uneasy collection of characters makes for some interesting conflicts, it can also make one long for the lighthearted, fantasy feel of earlier Green Lantern series.
