SEMPER FI: TALES OF THE MARINE CORPS COMIC BOOK!




An issue of the fantastic comic book series featuring the United States Marine Corps during the Chinese Boxer Rebellion in May of 1900.

Peter Gimbel (a Whittier Cousin) enjoys the excitement and adventure of the Marine Corps, but he finds more than he bargained for stationed at the Legation Quarter in Peking, China. During the "Boxer" Rebellion, the Legation Quarter, a walled compound in Peking that sheltered the various embassies and European business concerns of the foreigners in china, was protected by the US Marines.
Drawn by the Legendary John Severin, best known for his lavishly detailed artwork on EC Comics gritty Two Fisted Tales war comics in the fifties.

Also contains a bonus story. "Stickup." July 22, 1932, Union Station in Washington, DC. A crime wave raced across America in the 1930's. Not even the Marines were safe! The USMC takes on organized crime as the Collins Gang attempts to hijack a military payroll and a Marine is taken hostage.
