Talisman of Death is a single-player roleplaying gamebook written by Jamie Thomson and Mark Smith, illustrated by Bob Harvey and originally published in 1984 by Puffin Books. It forms part of Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone's Fighting Fantasy series. It is the 11th in the series in the original Puffin series (ISBN 0-14-031859-3)
Unlike most other Fighting Fantasy books, the reader is in fact an ordinary person from Earth, drawn into the world of Orb by the will of the gods. In this book the player is given the task of protecting the Talisman of Death. The player must find a way of returning to their own world with the Talisman, thus depriving the god Death of the Talisman forever Talisman of Death is the only Fighting Fantasy gamebook set in the fantasy world of Orb, a creation of Thomson and Smith, although this world is also used as a setting for their Way of the Tiger series of gamebooks. The majority of the story is spent in the town "Greyguilds-on-the-moor". Characters that appear in Talisman of Death, such as Tyutchev, Cassandra, and Thaum also appear in the Way of the Tiger series. Also, Bob Harvey reprises his role as the illustrator of the series.

He is one of the most emulated artists of these genres in the world. His cover for the sword-and-sorcery collection Conan the Adventurer by Robert E. Howard and L. Sprague de Camp (Lancer 1966) caused a sensation—numerous people bought the book for its cover alone. This interpretation of Conan essentially redefined the genre of Sword and Sorcery visually and had an enormous influence on succeeding generations of artists. From this point on, Frazetta's work was in great demand. During this period he also did covers for other paperback editions of classic Edgar Rice Burroughs books, such as those from the Tarzan and Barsoom (John Carter of Mars) series. When ordered to commit ritual suicide (seppuku), Ogami fought back, killing all present. The Yagyu clan retaliated by killing Ogami’s wife.
Ogami now wanders throughout Japan with his infant son, Daigoro, always plotting to return and exact his revenge. Uniquely, Ogami is often forced to fight with his son strapped to his back.

Pits Spawn’s worst enemy, Violator, a demon spawned by Hell, against Badrock, the Youngblood member and behemoth made of rock.
The tale begins when the government sponsors a group of scientists to capture and study the Violator. They know of his existence because of an earlier battle between him and Spawn. Badrock is brought in by the scientists since he is already on the government payroll. After capturing Violator in a well-planned trap, the scientists believe that their work is finished. They ask Badrock to stick around, however, “just in case.”
The scientists’ request turns out to be a wise move because the Violator breaks free, kills most of the project personnel, and tries to escape. Badrock really hates to lose and the two duke it out in an epic battle.

(for "Diminished Responsibility") Dobbs, a scheming criminal mastermind (who with his pointed ears, green flesh, and furrowed chin, resembled a Skrull), and Ernest Errol Quinch, his muscular purple skinned companion in crime, have influenced Earth's history in various anarchic ways.
Also includes a JUDGE DREDD story and a STRONTIUM DOG story.
Presenting stories from the legendary British comic series, 2000 A.D., this title is a hyperactive romp through an ultra-violent future. Starring Judge Dredd, the final word in law enforcement officers, it also included backup stories featuring Strontium Dog, and a couple of high-tech, homicidal, joy-riding aliens named D.R. (for “Diminished Responsibility”) and Quinch.
For all its quirkiness, 2000 A.D. Monthly is a terribly funny black comedy. It comes highly recommended for anyone capable of thinking of a thorium bomb as a comic prop.
