Sister Shannon Masters is transferred from the Vatican to New York to guard against demonic activity and gets entangled in a fight with a powerful wizard, Salvius Julianus, who seeks to free Lucifer from his bonds and start a new war between Heaven and Hell. Written and drawn by Ben Dunn.
As a rule, nuns usually oppose evil and the works of the devil through prayer and acts of chastity, charity, and faith. The Warrior Nuns of the Order of Areala take a more hands-on approach. Their habits are decidedly more revealing, allowing the freedom of movement to better oppose the various demons that seek to overtake society.
This title is a curious mix between Bad Girl art, so prevalent in the 1990s, and the Japanese manga style
The story and art is by Ben Dunn, whose earlier effort, Ninja High School, introduced a Warrior Nun prototype.
Lillith, the demon princess, learns of the plot to unbind Lucifer and heads to Earth to prevent it from happening. In the meantime, Julianus's forces have located Father Gomez's church and launch an attack of their own in an attempt to get back a critical component of their operation.
Recovering from her battle with Demon Foster, Shannon Masters is met at the gates of heaven by the first Warrior Nun and re-christened "Areala". Now aware of Julianus's plan, she leads a group in a direct attack on Julianus's compound to stop him from releasing Lucifer from his bonds.
