FAFHRD & THE GRAY MOUSER GRAPHIC NOVEL MIKE MIGNOLA HOWARD CHAYKIN '91 OOP RARE

FAFHRD & THE GRAY MOUSER GRAPHIC NOVEL.

This volume was never sold in the mass market and only available through comic book specialty shops.

Rare collector's item.

Howard Chaykin might not have been the obvious choice to adapt veteran fantasy writer Fritz Leiber’s lighthearted sword-and-sorcery stories, but his scripting is deft, witty and faithful to the source material. the sophisticated barbarian Fafhrd and dapper cutpurse The Gray Mouser are partners. contains two stylish stories of swordsmanship, thievery and magic. Mike Mignola, inked by the great Al Williamson, does an excellent job of capturing the decadent atmosphere of Lankhmar and the nightmarish, almost-surreal quality of the magic permeating every scene. Credit should also go to Sherilyn Van Valkenburgh, whose coloring ensures that the look of the work as a whole is richly rounded. A fine example of how to get adaptations right.
COLLECTOR'S ITEM! Highly sought after.
