Lake of Fire was a crossover between the Punisher and Azrael/Batman, two of the most popular grim ’n’ gritty vigilantes of the day. It was also a collaboration between their respective publishers, arch-rivals DC and Marvel Comics.
In this story, Marvel’s Punisher is hunting down his personal nemesis, the villain Jigsaw. The trail leads him into “one of the few places worse than New York City”—Gotham. There, Jigsaw has hatched a plan to foul the city reservoirs with rocket fuel. Once ignited, the water itself will burn, transforming the reservoirs into a lake of fire. Then, when Gotham needs someone to repair the damage, the only construction company that can do the job will be the one in which Jigsaw owns a controlling interest. To stop this from happening, the Punisher, a notorious loner, must cooperate with Azrael, and obsessed man who has taken over the role of Batman from Bruce Wayne.

In the early '70s he drew many stories for the Warren line (CREEPY, EERIE, VAMPIRELLA), and finally came Métal Hurlant, the French magazine released in America as HEAVY METAL, for whom Corben did many memorable stories.

FEATURING MARVEL COMICS THE PUNISHER
prison of war Sgt. Frank Castle found by a Vietnamese solider, hanging in his cell. The soldier enters the cell and Frank springs into action. Castle had faked his hanging by running a length of cloth from his belt to the noose to support his weight. Castle leaves a trail of dead Vietnamese soldiers in his wake as he escapes and sets out to intercept the sniper known as "The Monkey". A group of soldiers find another vietnamese soldier's body tied to a tree with the calling card white skull painted on his carcass and begin to fear the crazy American soldier.
The 'Nam was an historical fiction series published in comic book form, detailing the U.S. War in Vietnam from the perspective of active-duty soldiers involved in the conflict. published by Marvel Comics.
The creators intended to roughly parallel the analogous events of the period of major American military involvement in Vietnam from 1966 to 1972.
The comic is structured as the narrative of fictional soldier's experience in the real events that occurred during the conflict. Each issue of the comic tells a story that occurs one month after the previous issue.
Vietnam War veteran Larry Hama (creator of the second incarnation of GI JOE in the eighties) contacted fellow vet Doug Murray in 1984 about doing a Vietnam War series for Marvel Comics. Murray said that the comic was, "a pretty accurate view of the way the average soldier looked at the war. It was outside ordinary experience. The world was elsewhere." Murray decided to do the comic book in real-time so that one issue equaled one month to convey the concept of short-time. He said, "Literally everybody had a calendar that kept track of how long they had to go in-country. I really wanted a way to kind of reflect that in the comic book." The actions of the 23rd Infantry were based on fact. This did not mean that they were in every action depicted in the book - only that that historical event actually occurred. In addition, every issue featured a back-of-the-book glossary explaining the authentic lingo of the characters.
During its run, The 'Nam was nominated for the Best New Series category of the 1987 Jack Kirby Awards.
Marine Corps. veteran and former Newsweek editor William Broyles Jr. praised the comic for having, "a certain gritty reality,"
This comic book was never available to the mass market and was only sold in comic book specialty shops.

It’s been a year since Conchita’s death in the Punisher’s last war with the Kingpin. As an anniversary present, the Punisher has been hitting the Kingpin’s operations with unprecedented ferocity. Most recently, he took down one of the Kingpin’s South American operations, and slew his chief assassin.
Now, the Kingpin decides it’s time to cut his losses. He recruits Pierce and his Reavers to take out the Punisher once and for all. But, as fate would have it, the Reavers are currently engaged in a battle to take down the X-Men’s Wolverine. After defeating one of those high-tech mercenaries, Wolverine learns of the contract out on the Punisher and decides to come to his aid. Thus it’s all the more surprising to him when he discovers that “the Punisher” is not the man he seemed to be when last they met in Hearts of Darkness.

Ghost Rider, Wolverine and Punisher need to save a young girl from Blackheart, satanic son of Mephisto (these are the two villains from the GHOST RIDER movie starring Nicolas Cage)!

These stories reveals much into the story of Blackheart, one of the main villains from the Ghost Rider movie. The story tells of how Blackheart seeks the help of Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Punisher to destroy the lord of hell, Mephisto, so he can reign supreme and create a new hell. Of course, you can imagine what their response is. Read this story about an unlikely team-up to save the innocent and stop an insane demon from creating his own hell.
One of the best things to come out of Marvel Comics in the modern era. It is a morality play- and a very good one.
The action takes place in Christ's Crown, a sleepy midwestern town. It is here that Blackheart, son of Mephisto, heir to the throne of hell is reborn on our plane. It is also here that he decides to both depose, and surpass, his father. His strategy is to tempt and corrupt the new breed of hero- those that walk the razor's edge between Light and Darkness in the service of justice.
To do this he summons Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Punisher to town. He does this with notes that promise them secret information on what they desire most. Unfortunately, for him, he has misjudged the men that he has summoned. These stories reveals much into the story of Blackheart, one of the main villains from the Ghost Rider movie. The story tells of how Blackheart seeks the help of Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Punisher to destroy the lord of hell, Mephisto, so he can reign supreme and create a new hell. Of course, you can imagine what their response is. Read this story about an unlikely team-up to save the innocent and stop an insane demon from creating his own hell.
One of the best things to come out of Marvel Comics in the modern era. It is a morality play- and a very good one.
The action takes place in Christ's Crown, a sleepy midwestern town. It is here that Blackheart, son of Mephisto, heir to the throne of hell is reborn on our plane. It is also here that he decides to both depose, and surpass, his father. His strategy is to tempt and corrupt the new breed of hero- those that walk the razor's edge between Light and Darkness in the service of justice.
To do this he summons Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Punisher to town. He does this with notes that promise them secret information on what they desire most. Unfortunately, for him, he has misjudged the men that he has summoned.
