Half-black, half-Hispanic Spider-Man revealed
We have an African-American president, so why not an African-American Spider-Man, too?
Revealed in Marvel Comics' Ultimate Fallout Issue 4, out Wednesday, the new Spider-Man in the Ultimate universe is a half-black, half-Hispanic teen named Miles Morales. He takes over the gig held by Peter Parker, who was killed in Ultimate Spider-Man Issue 160 in June.
In his first appearance, he simply breaks up a fight. But readers will learn the true origin of Morales and how he became the new Spider-Man when Ultimate Spider-Man relaunches in September with a new No. 1 issue.
"The theme is the same: With great power comes great responsibility," says writer Brian Michael Bendis. "He's going to learn that. Then he has to figure out what that means."
Morales' journey will be a similar vehicle for today's fans, says Marvel's editor in chief, Axel Alonso.
"What you have is a Spider-Man for the 21st century who's reflective of our culture and diversity. We think that readers will fall in love with Miles Morales the same way they fell in love with Peter Parker."
In addition to an alliterative name, Miles has a connection to his predecessor in how he received his powers. But he will have different abilities, too. Supporting characters such as Peter's Aunt May and Gwen Stacy also will give Miles nuggets of wisdom to help his transition from young kid to New York City superhero.

STATIC #1 COMIC BOOK.
The first appearance of the popular character who stars in the STATIC SHOCK animated series was within the pages of this comic book, STATIC #1. STATIC SHOCK was created by DWAYNE MCDUFFIE, best known as a producer of the JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED animated series (STATIC was seen as a member of the future Justice League in one episode).
Static returned to the DC Universe recently and joining the THE TEEN TITANS, alongside Robin, Superboy, Wondergirl and Kid Flash!
This is the extremely rare issue, published by MILESTONE MEDIA. This comic was never available in any mass market retail outlets and was only available to purchase through comic book specialty stores.
Vintage COLLECTOR'S ITEM! Highly sought after.
RARE and OUT OF PRINT! Impossible to find!
Synopsis:
Static rescues Frieda from a gang of thugs, the next day they try again and this time, manage to steal her away.
When Static flies to her rescue, he comes across their leader, Hotstreak.
Creator Dwayne McDuffie's description "Like any other awkward 15 year-old, Virgil Hawkins worries about sex, pocket money, and getting beaten up. But recently, he's had even more on his mind: stuff like his powers, his secret identity, and sex. Because, when innocents are in danger, and Virgil can slip away from class, the geeky youth becomes Static, the dashing, adventurous superhero!"
An African American, Static was a key character of Milestone Comics, an independently-owned imprint of DC Comics specializing in minority heroes. Milestone folded in 1997 but Static was saved from obscurity by the WB animated series Static Shock, which aired for four seasons and led to the 2001 comic book miniseries Static Shock: Rebirth of the Cool.
Static's civilian identity was named after the first African-American to go to law school, who was himself named after the Roman poets Virgil and Ovid.
Milestone Media is a company best known for creating the Milestone comics imprint (that was published through DC Comics) and the Static Shock cartoon series. It was founded in 1993 by a coalition of African-American artists and writers (namely Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis and Derek T. Dingle) who believed that minorities were severely underrepresented in American comics. Milestone Media was their attempt to correct this imbalance.

THE TRUTH: RED WHITE and BLACK #1.
MARVEL COMIC BOOK starring The Black Captain America!
Each detailing part of the saga of the African American Captain America who fought injustice during World War 2!
Published by Marvel Comics, the creators of such beloved superheroes a Spiderman, X-Men, The Hulk, Daredevil, Iron Man, and of course, CAPTAIN AMERICA.
This comic book series, published in 2003, revealed that the ORIGINAL Captain America was in fact a Black American Soldier.
At the time, it garnered a flurry of media attention, and the series sold out and became instant collector's items.
The series is written and drawn by African American writer Robert Morales and artist Kyle Baker.
Printed on glossy paperstock and cardstock cover to enhance the full color expressive style of Baker's illustrations.
Truth writer Robert Morales took a lead from the “Tuskegee experiment.” The Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male was a real-life clinical study in which poor Black men were denied treatment for syphilis, so that the doctors involved could study how the disease spreads through the body and eventually kills the infected person.
Morales posed the questions: What if realizing that the “Super Soldier” serum was potentially so dangerous and perhaps fatal that before testing it on a white man (Rogers), the government tested it on Black soldiers.
In 1940, Joe Simon and Jack Kirby created Captain America, a frail patriot who was transformed by a "super-soldier serum" into a physically perfect specimen to champion freedom, an American alternative to the Nazi uebermensch. Now, writer Morales pursues this idea and also draws inspiration from U.S. government experiments in the 1930s that left unwitting African-Americans infected with syphilis, leading to many deaths. Beginning his story in 1940, Morales incisively depicts the racism his various African-American characters confront both in civilian life and in the military. These black soldiers are compelled to act as test subjects for the super-soldier serum; some die, while others become deformed. Ultimately only one survives, Isaiah Bradley. Becoming Captain America for one mission, Bradley discovers Jewish concentration camp inmates subjected to experiments. Ranging from heroic figures to pointed caricatures, artist Baker makes his varied styles gel. Drawing on copious research, Morales dramatizes how racism corrupted American history, and the cost of the Super Soldier serum in creating the Captain America known to most for the past century.

BLACK PANTHER 3 COMIC BOOKS #1 MARVEL 1ST BLACK HERO!!!
BLACK PANTHER 3 COMIC BOOKS.
#1, #2, and #3.
THE FIRST BLACK SUPERHERO!!!
written by REGINALD HUDLIN.
The Black Panther (T'Challa) is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe who is the first modern Black superhero. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and penciller-co-plotter Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #52 (July 1966).
3 Comic Books published by Marvel Comics, the creators of such beloved superheroes a SPIDERMAN, THE HULK, X-MEN, CAPTAIN AMERICA, IRON MAN and of course THE FANTASTIC FOUR!
The Wakandan super hero is back with Hollywood heavyweight Hudlin (HOUSE PARTY, BOOMERANG) and fan favorite Romita Jr. (WOLVERINE, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN), teaming up to deliver a new ongoing series that's sure to excite true believers and the hip hop faithful. The Black Panther's origin is retold in a cinematic scope with social satire and all-out action. Marvel has big plans for the Panther. He's destined to become a key player in the Marvel Universe this year, so reader, get on board now! 32 PGS
While a team of super-powered mercenaries prepares their assault on Wakanda, a contest is underway in that warrior kingdom: Who will be the next Black Panther?
Many years ago, Klaw killed the reigning Black Panther ? but not without a price. Learn how he did it.... as he readies himself for the death of T'challa!
Since his introduction to the Marvel universe, the Black Panther has fought alongside just about every major hero, both on his own and as a member of the Avengers. He has also fought for justice in several of his own series and miniseries, including a 1988 multi-issue story in Marvel Comics Presents, in which he ventured into an apartheid-era South Africa to find his mother... a rather dangerous time and place for a black man in a mask to be.
Indeed, Black Panther's adventures have often involved racial tensions, ecological issues, and conflicts between ancient cultures and Western nations. And given his identity as a king and an African, this is understandable. But the important thing to note is that, unlike the racist comic characters that came before him, he is not defined solely by his skin color or nationality; he is a product of the belief that every person should be judged by his or her words and actions, and not by the color of their skin.
The Black Panther is the ceremonial title given to the chief of the Panther Tribe of the African nation of Wakanda. In addition to ruling the country, he is also chief of its various tribes (collectively referred to as the Wakandas). The Panther uniform is a symbol of office (head of state) and is used even during diplomatic missions.
The Black Panther is entitled to the use of a heart-shaped herb that grants the person who consumes it enhanced strength, agility, and perception. The present-day bearer of the Black Panther mantle is T'Challa, who has had a lengthy career as a superhero, including a longstanding membership in The Avengers, alongside heroes such as CAPTAIN AMERICA, IRON MAN and THOR.

BLACKJACK #1 COMIC BOOK!
RARE AND OUT OF PRINT.
Detailing the saga of the African American Hero introduced in the nineties!
Published by Dark Angel Productions in 1996!
Blackjack is Aaron Day, the son of a mercenary who died in 1923 at the hands of the Cobra, a charismatic Middle Eastern cult leader and rebel warrior. Sworn to avenge the deaths of his parents and his uncle, Blackjack makes the pursuit of the Cobra his life’s work in this well-written and gorgeously illustrated series from Alex Simmons and Joe Bennett (The Amazing Spider-Man). A nice mix of elements that bring to mind such high-adventure concepts as 1930s movie serials, Milton Caniff’s “Terry and the Pirates,” Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and even Randy Reynaldo’s Rob Hanes. Blackjack is also notable for its focus on an African-American hero in a genre dominated by white protagonists.
Excerpt of an interview with creator Alex Simmons...
"So how about a black adventurer, ‘cause then you can see the 30’s and 40’s from that perspective, and it would make the stories more interesting for me to write. And then the more I worked on the character of Aaron Day, the history and his origin and all of that, the more I would do some research to make sure I wasn’t going too far afield of reality. I mean, it was certainly going to be a fictional character, but what would support this?
By the time I finished the character, I’d discovered that there had been, for lack of a better word, an adventurer, known as a Black Sparrow. His real name was Eugene Bullard. As a matter of fact, it’s in the back of this. [Reaches for my copy of Blackjack: Blood & Honor and turns to the back.] I discovered him after I had created the character and I went, my god. So not only did I believe it was possible, but now I’m seeing that somebody had some adventures like this. He flew in World War One for the French, and he’s an American. He escaped from the United States because he got tired of the KKK visiting his house. And he was a young lad, not even 14 when he took off from Mississippi, and he worked his way to the coastline, he stowed away on a German freighter and he dropped in Europe. He worked his way across Europe, doing all kinds of odd jobs including boxing and things like that, until he wound up in France during the first World War, and got himself in the first Air Force. And it goes on from there, the different things he was involved in and the people he knew [like] Josephine Baker and a number of the people of that Renaissance period. But I thought, this is reality, and I did my fictional character, and now I feel even better about having created Aaron Day, because now I am gonna be able to bring people’s attention to folks that really did those things."
