VINTAGE FIRST ISSUE COLLECTOR'S ITEM! PUBLISHED IN 1991.
Featuring Full Color Painted artwork printed on high quality paper! This comic is as gorey and frightening as the Nightmare Films themselves!
Nancy Thompson is still alive in the 'Beautiful Dream'. She has become Freddy's equal in the dream world, and with the help of Neil Gordon, she plans to end Freddy's reigning nightmare.
Prepare for the ultimate battle between good and evil as all your favorite characters reunite to battle the evil Freddy Krueger one last time - in his nightmare world.
This was the official new story taking place in-between Nightmare 5 & Freddy's Dead. Reuniting the classic characters for one last battle with Freddy and tying up the loose ends before Freddy's Dead.
Innovation should be given credit for the sophistication of their comic book as well as the fact that it fit very well inside of the continuity of the movies (even Wes Craven's NEW NIGHTMARE, which came later)!
It was during this era that most comic books shifted from four color newsprint format that traditionally typified most "comic books" since it's introduction as disposable entertainment, to a much higher quality product that was sold to mostly adult readers and collectors through a direct market of Comic Book Specialty Stores.
Thus, Innovation Comics was able the create a comic book that captured the same kind of moody, violent, over-the-top horror that could be appreciated by the grown up fans of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movies!
The artwork for the first few issues were fully painted in a wonderfully expressive style by TONY HARRIS, who would be best known for co-creating the new STARMAN (Jack Knight) with JAMES ROBINSON for DC COMICS, and is currently drawing BRIAN K VAUGHN'S excellent superhero-turned-politician comic book EX MACHINA.
This is an extremely rare issue, published by INNOVATION COMICS.
Highly sought after.
