Kingdom Come Graphic Novel
STARRING THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA IN THE FINAL SUPERHERO BATTLES TO END ALL SUPERHERO BATTLES. THE MOST EPIC SUPERHERO STORY OF ALL TIME.

MILLENNIUM EDITION COMIC BOOK.

RARE AND OUT OF PRINT! THE FIRST VOLUME OF THE REVOLUTIONARY GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES FEATURING FULLY PAINTED ART BY ALEX ROSS!

This is a VARIANT edition with a special gold foil "DC COMICS MILLENNIUM EDITION" seal on the cover.

Kicks off what is arguably the greatest JUSTICE LEAGUE tale ever told. The story of the final days of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and armies of DC superheroes as they choose sides against each other for the fate of the Earth!

Kingdom Come, replete with grand storytelling and biblical prophecy, takes place in the near future when Superman has retired and a new, ruthlessly violent generation of "heroes" has corrupted the Earth, their questionable deeds culminating in the destruction of Kansas. The basic story revolves around the retirement of the older generation of superheroes and the rise of a new generation that doesn't have the same moral compass. Superman has retired to a farm after he becomes disillusioned with humans' supporting the flashier but less ethical metahumans, and now Wonder Woman has come to ask him to get involved again and help tame the out of control new generation. Batman and Superman renew an old animosity, and hundreds of superheroes join in the conflict, especially in the climactic battle between the different generations of Superheroes.

Probably the most beautiful graphic novel ever seen. Alex Ross' art is matched by a strong story which contrasts the eternal qualities of legendary heroes like Superman and Wonderwoman with the moral ambiguities of a rapidly changing world.

Series about the future of the JUSTICE LEAGUE. The main story line centers around the newly returned Superman and the Justice League in thier attempt to control the growing population of new superheroes. Under the surface the book is also about the silver age of comics against the the "modern age."

Superman must confront the ultra-violent world of super-beings spawned since his retirement in one of the most popular miniseries of the 1990s. Recalling the debut of KINDOM COME, retailer Roger Ash of Westfield Comics in Middleton, WI, notes that "Waid and Ross combined their talents in a project that's as stunning now as it was when I first read it."

Includes an introduction by DC Comics Publisher Paul Levitz and insight into the production and development of the series by Robert Greenberger.
